SINCE 2013 The Ethiopian Community Center helps improve the quality of life for Ethiopians, immigrants, and low-income people through educational and social services.

ወጣቶቻችን ፡ አልባሌ ፡ ቦታ ፡ በመዋል ፡ ወንጀል ፡ እንዳይፈፅሙ ፡ አስፈላጊውን ፡ ምክር ፡ የሚያገኙበትን ፡ መንገድ፡ ማዘጋጀት ፡
እና፡ በርካታ፡ ሌሎች፡ ያልተጠቀሱ፡ ፕሮግራሞችን፡ ለማንቀሳቀስ፡ በዝግጅት፡ ላይ፡ ነው።
MISSION
Provide reliable, quality, and accessible community services to all Ethiopians in Maryland, regardless of age, sex, or other social, economic or ideological differences; with the goal of promoting self-sufficiency, cultural enrichment, and understanding and appreciation of Ethiopian culture and history. ECCM will also serve as a center for safety and emergency response during accidents or during urgent need of community members
VISION
Create a sense of identity, cultural awareness, and a center for information sharing for all Ethiopians and Ethiopian-Americans. ECCM’s will bringing together Ethiopian-Americans and other Americans of African origin residing in Maryland.
OUR APPROACH
Participate the community in crafting programs
Create opportunity for like-mind individuals to come together and contribute to the community
Identify professionals and create conducive atmosphere for them to contribute their share
Organize various events to design strategies of socio-economic development
Approach different institutions and facilitate socio-economic well being of our community and empower individuals and groups

Overview
Today’s Center welcomes all members of the community regardless of race or ethnic origin. We market ourselves as multi-ethnic, multi-racial, multi-lingual, and multi-generational.
Social Services
Through the Immigrant Family Resource Program, ECCM Welcoming Center, and Family Advocacy Center, we serve as a one-stop shop for individuals and families who are afraid or unaware of where to go for help. We provide resource and referral, linguistic and culturally competent case management, weekly food pantry, and vouchers for household goods and clothing assistance when resources permit.
Citizenship and Immigration
Our center’s Citizenship and Immigration Services serve all nationalities and countries of origin. We are a U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Services’ Community Based Organization and are registered. General for immigration services. All Immigration services are only provided to eligible individuals.
Education
This includes English as a Second Language classes, citizenship workshops, computer literacy, parenting classes, among others in partnership with local organizations.
We see every challenge as an opportunity. These initiatives help us ensure that our community is better prepared to manage the unique situations they find themselves in. We are invested in an innovative approach that empowers our community and delivers the support they need, when they need it.
Health
The health program has an overall goal of improving disparities in health access and outcome. The program is designed and implemented in collaboration with the Ethiopian Health Board which is comprised of medical professionals of Ethiopian origin. All activities are culturally aware and delivered in Amharic. With a trusted connection to the community and the invaluable support of the Ethiopian Health Board, ECCM is well placed to make a positive difference in the lives of its members.

Promote cultural preservation and unity – institute annual Ethiopian Day and New Year an opportunity for Ethiopians to share their experiences and affirm cultural identity
